1. Anxiety Dream
"Big Wave Tragedy"
I dreamt I was walking along a harbor (or cliff top).
Looking down on one beach, I saw my granddad playing with my nieces.
By the time I turned the corner to the next little beach, there was a
huge freak wave crashing over the road. I turned and ran back to my
granddad and went into the water looking for my nieces. As I helped
children out of the water, some ok and some dead, my eldest daughter
floated up next to me stone-cold dead, in her school summer dress,
hair streaming behind her. With that I woke up screaming and sobbing.
What does it mean? Please answer. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer:
I can understand how terrifying this dream must be for you, but I can
assure you that it is not precognitive. In other words, it is not
saying this is going to happen. In dreams, big waves like that
symbolize a great emotional upheaval that has either recently happened
or is about to happen.
The fact that your grandfather is in the dreams could mean several
things. If he is alive and part of the family, it may have something
to do with him. Or it may refer to something connected with things
he's involved with now, or something that he has been involved in the
past. Another possibility is that, in the past, you saw some kind of
emotional upheaval in the family devastate him and your dream is using
that as a symbol. Also, it could be showing you that you need to be
very involved when the children are with your grandfather. In other
words, you may not want to leave the children with him unless someone
else is around. Maybe he's not as able as he was in the past, or maybe
he could be forgetful, or not pay close enough attention. The water in
the dream is emotion. Since the dream showed you the children's hair
-- hair means thoughts or mindsets, your dream is showing that the
children will be effected mentally, too.
Keep watching your dreams for more information about what you're being
shown in this dream. The purpose of dreams is to give you helpful
information. Often when you examine a dream as carefully as we have
you'll find other dreams coming to tell you more. If you want to get
more involved in working with you dreams, keep watching the our site. We'll be coming out with many more ways to help you understand
your dreams.
Your dreams can help you live a happy, fulfilled, prosperous and safe
life. Hope this helps. Sweet dreams.
2. Business Dream
"Loose Grapes for Sale" (from the book Guidance from Your Dreams)
I am a woman starting up a new business. In my dream,
I am carrying a simple corrugated cardboard box, about one-foot
square, into which I have put loose grapes (stripped from their
stems). I am walking among a group of people, asking if anyone would
like to buy some grapes. To some people I simply ask, "Would you
like some?" Only a few people decide to sample any. They are red
grapes. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer: The dream speaks to limitation. The produce for sale
is boxed in a cheap-looking container. Sales are further limited by
the small box, grapes sold individually rather than in bunches, and by
the sales pitch, "Want some?," which could mean you're
giving them away. The dream suggests you're selling yourself short.
Your approach is small grapes and not selling. Your energy (red) is
scattered and loose. You're selling out if not giving yourself away.
If selling "on the street" isn't working, consider going
after a more selective group of customers, in larger quantity, with
wares more attractively displayed. [NOTE: The dream reinforced the
dreamer's efforts to launch a new business, which involved researching
manufacturing techniques, setting goals, seeking a market niche and
becoming more visible.]
Hope this helps.
3. Health Dream
"Pains From Falling Teeth and Legs"
This dream is a bit strange. I am always dreaming
about all of my teeth falling out, and that is all that happens except
I can feel all the pain! Also sometimes in this dream I get ran over
by a car and I can feel it hitting my legs. Also during the day when I
cross a road I can envision a car hitting me on my legs! Please help
me understand what these dreams are all about! Thank you. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer: Your dream of teeth falling out is a very common
dream with everyone. It usually means that you are being careless with
what you are saying to others. Teeth are words and you say yours are
causing pain, very real pain. Try to watch what you are saying to
others and try to identify what words are causing such hurt.
The dream with the car running over your legs is about trying to
understand more about yourself. Cars in a dream are your drives and
motivations. You are seeing in your dream that they can become
overwhelming. They can get out of control, or reflect carelessness or
going too fast, overrunning your understanding. Legs in a dream are
symbols of your "understanding." By becoming hurt, they may
not be as useful to you. Also, legs represent steps that you can take
and maybe this option is being taken away by carelessness.
I hope this helps. Keep watching you dreams. Your dreams can help you
build a happy, successful and prosperous life
4. Historical Dream (Past Era, Reincarnation?)
"The Castle"
I ride a horse through foothills and grass, following
another companion on horseback well ahead. It is some ancient age. I
am looking out for an ambush. I thoroughly enjoy the riding experience
in the outdoors. I am a knight, but without armor, young, and possibly
part of an invading army. A castle appears suddenly, well hidden in
the rocks. It has 20-ft. high thin metal doors, rusted, with no lock.
Is it Russian? I enter, the door easily opening into high-ceiling
rooms. Soon, we're joined by the rest of our party, including ladies,
who quickly make themselves at home. Food and drink are served. One
remarks on the poor times the local people have fallen into. I roam
through the rooms, and discover another identical pair of doors on the
far side of the castle. I open one a fraction and see a guard outside.
An enemy soldier? I quietly close the door and retreat, believing that
I wasn't seen. Later that night, looking out a paneless castle window,
I see many horses
running by beneath the moonlight and am enthralled. Nonetheless, I
wonder if this is a trap. Dreamer.
Dear Dreamer - The dream tells you of circumstances entering your
present-day life, which, as the ancient Chinese say, offer elements of
opportunity and possible risk. If you believe in past lives, a current
situation in your present-day life has triggered, has connected you
with something that you faced before in this life. Or in a past one!
However, whether or not you are into reincarnation, the dream messages
remain the same.
You are involved or soon will be in an exciting undertaking, an
adventure. It involves others who support you. It possibly has you
returning to something, a project for example, that had been
abandoned, possibly by you. What confronts you appears, at the moment,
friendly, large, open, in disrepair but repairable. You are cautious,
and be so! Whether your dream and no doubt real-life fears and
concerns are grounded or not, you are vulnerable. Improve your
defenses. You are curious, and be so. Find out more, not only about
the structure and organization and people presently involved, but
beyond the castle walls, explore who and what surrounds it. What is
presently outside is connected to your endeavor, your goal, and will
become involved with and affected by it. If this is a business
undertaking, you have the support of companions, but discover for
yourself what is and isn't. Learn for yourself if the financial
prospects are indeed poor, if you are in hostile territory, and, if
so, if you can make it into friendly territory. Do not overly rely on
your companions for support, as they too seem vulnerable, not well
protected either, and not that well experienced with all the
surroundings. What you independently discover and do will benefit all.
You could well be back in your castle of dreams and hopes. Work is
ahead of you, as said, to shore up your defenses, learn the lay of the
land, etc. Your attitude may determine if you will overly wall
yourself in, or, with in a more balanced approach, plug up the gaps
while establishing a rapport with the local populace, assisting and
being assisted, the mark of a good business or a good friend. The
expansive doors have you off to a good opening.
The horses, now running free without rein, point to powerful energies
associated with your new venture. They also point to the critical
importance of a healthy balance point, difficult to achieve, let alone
maintain, of controlled power. This is a point that allows your animal
self - your more instinctual, more basic animal drive -- to run, to
exercise, but not become reckless, not panic, not stampede. What seems
essential to harness, yet maximize this energy, are reins and their
minimal use. Take care that your enthusiasm, your emotions, do not run
away with you. Lots of potential here.
A good adventure awaits, it would appear. Good luck. Hope this helps.
5. Nature Dream
"Dip With Manatees"
I am at a beach with my mom. As we walk into the water
I notice that it gets really deep, deep enough to cover up to my
waist. As I look down I see all these little gray things swimming
around. Just then I realize that these little things are baby manatees
and I scoop one up. A few seconds later I get scared and let it back
into the water. It swims behind me and grabs on to my upper thigh, I
quickly swat it off and take another step deeper into the water.
As I am looking out, I see a bigger manatee (about the size of me)
swimming along the shore to my left. I look at my mom and tell her
that I want to swim with the bigger one. At the exact same time it
comes out of the water and looks like a humpback whale. I thought that
this was very strange so I put on my goggles to look at it underwater
while doing this. I see that it is normal. There are no barnacles on
its back or a spout coming out if its head. It's just a cute manatee
that I spend the rest of the day swimming with. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer: Your dream is telling you about the new life you are
discovering at school. Up until you had the dream, you had been wading
into things gradually, not just plunging in headlong. But at a certain
point you discover a new life you hadn't realized was there. At first
it is just the small things that got your attention. One of these you
were able to shake off because it seemed to cling on to you. Soon you
discover a more adult world is available to you. You first check it
out to make sure that it is not overwhelming (the whale) and you learn
that it is perfectly normal. Having left your Mom on the beach, you
move out to enjoy your new life signaling her what you were going to
do. From then on, it is very, very enjoyable. Your dream is saying
that you've done a wonderful job of adapting to the new life at
school. You've taking it slow, checking out what is right for you and
keeping in touch with home. Since it was at the beach, it deals with
the experience. Water is a symbol for life's experience as well as
representing emotions. Your dream is showing that that you've
approached the new life and all the emotions that accompany that new
life, in a very exemplary way.
Hope this helps.
6. Other Reality Dream (Future, Psychic, Fantasy)
"The Three Wishes"
In a dream in which I knew I was dreaming, I flew
rapidly over an ancient forest of tall trees to a large castle in
excellent condition. I flew through the thick stone, and again
rapidly, down a long empty passage way, stone-lined, that dead-ended
in another wall, which I flew through into a room. It had a high
ceiling, a rug covering the entire floor, and at one end on a podium,
an altar. Several fresh torches in wall holders provided illumination.
It was otherwise empty. No people, no symbols, no furniture. I
instantly sensed that I should lie down on my back, close my eyes and
make three wishes. I did, asking for the healing of two ailments, and
something else not remembered. I knew that they were granted. That's
all I remembered. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer: Your dream is showing you that you are able to
connect with the past, which holds the key to your current situation.
Dreams in which the dreamer is flying can mean several things: 1) that
you are overcoming the more mundane things of daily life; 2) that the
flying is a way of escaping what you are currently facing, 3) flights
of fantasy, 4) that you are relying on the mental rather than physical
things (air vs. earthly travel), letting your mind carry you rather
than taking steps you need to travel on earth, and 5) that you hold
aspirations or ideals.
In this dream, you show that the entire situation is very easy for
you. It comes naturally (as seen by the forest, etc.). The castle
could symbolize "regency," since the lord or ruler usually
has the castle. It could also symbolize the "better world"
we often associate with medieval times when castles were needed to
protect the land. Or, it could mean magic, fairy tales, etc., that
often are analogies for the dreamers' emotions. The green carpet could
be a sign of growth and healing.
In the dream you said that you "knew" you should lie down
and make 3 wishes. This could be telling that you need to lie down
more, especially if a portion of the things that you are facing
involve working, or strenuous activity. Again, this
"knowing" could be that you are using the mental rather than
the five senses of gaining information by the physical way of seeing,
hearing, tasting, smelling, touching. The torches that light the room
say that part of the clarity comes from fire, which a teacher of mine
insists means "justification". The lack of
other furniture, etc., means that this is a fairly basic
approach, without many trappings.
"Knowing" that the 3 wishes were granted is an important key
to the dream because it requires you to believe in things that you
can't see and can't explain - the mystery of things -- in order to
realize the healing of the two ailments. It is significant that you
can't remember the third wish because with this you'll have to
continue your life with blind faith until you either recall your wish
or it is shown to you through other memories, dreams or reflections.
See if you can remember what was going on when you had this dream.
Then try to identify which of the flying meanings listed above you
think would be the appropriate one. Or, you may want to try each of
the meanings of flying dreams and see how they fit your current mode
of operating.
Then, watch your dreams. Your dreams will help you build a healthy,
prosperous and fulfilled life. Hope this helps.
7. Relationship Dream
"The Haircut"
While I was in Acapulco, my girlfriend back home got a
haircut that looked like it did when she was in fifth grade. When I
returned from the trip, I saw her hair, and I was shocked. I didn't
show my disappointment, and I told her it looked good. The next day,
her hair was back to normal, and I was relieved. Dreamer
Dear Dreamer: Your dream is telling you about your relationship
with your current girlfriend. It is showing you that at times, perhaps
when you go away, she starts acting childish and immature. See if you
can identify exactly what it is referencing. "When you going
away" could mean that at times you pull away from her. Ask
yourself if you are in some way changing something about you that
brings about a change in her. Since this is a haircut, the dream is
telling you that it is a mental attitude. Or, it could be a
"cutting off" or "shortening" of her attention to
you and cuts back to a juvenile way of relating to you. If you've
actually been to Acapulco, see if that is a signal of the last time
this happened. What did you do there? What did she do at home? If not,
see if you can uncover what "Acapulco" means to you. It is
"going south", "south of the border," which could
mean beyond previous boundaries, or it could be "taking it easy,
relaxing, as in vacation," etc. Your dream also is showing that
you deal with this change in a non-confrontational way and it quickly
changes back to your normal, current relatedness. Not necessarily
honest, but maybe wise. You'd be the best judge of that.
Hope this helps.
8. Transition Dream (Birth, Death, Dying, Dead)
"On the Trail Again"
A month or two after the death of my good friend
Oscar, a lover of hiking and Nature,
I dreamed that I saw him in the distance and from above, as if
through the eyes of an eagle. He was alone, walking happily along a
high desert mountain trail, with his customary hiking staff in hand.
This was the first of five dreams I have had about him. Dreamer.
Dear Dreamer: Dreams of loved ones who have died are very important
dreams. They give us a glimpse of the "other side" and a
clue to the mystery of what happens after death. They can also depict
the scope of our relationship with that person and reflect our feeling
about them.
In the dream of your friend, it is a type of "far focusing"
from a very high level. The eagle is a symbol for the love center as
well as a emblem of our country. You are seeing him from the air, or
from a mental rather than a physical encounter where you could greet
him. This could be a picturalization of his love of freedom, a wish
which you're honoring rather than to "suddenly" appear on
the trail in front of him and interrupt his journey. His walking stick
confirms that he has the support he needs to go on ahead. This support
could be the love and prayers of his friends as well has his own
spiritual development and his mental realizations about the nature of
birth and death.
Compare this with the other dreams you've had of Oscar and see if
there is a progression of your understanding and of his own
progression in his journey.
Dreams of loved ones who have died are blessings to those who mourn
and a great comfort to all who knew this person. Be sure to share it
with others who also loved him and encourage them to watch their
dreams and share them with you. Family groups find great relief in the
dreams that each person has about those who have gone on.
I hope this helps.
