Dream - When Nothing Works
I was working in my office and on the phone with a
customer. For some reason the customer was already unhappy with me. Then
the phone connection started getting bad and I could not hear her
clearly. This made her more irate. Then the computer monitor on my desk
fell over. The next thing I know tornado sirens were going off. I had to
tell the customer it was an emergency and I have to get off the phone.
Suddenly a tornado was whizzing by outside and somehow it came into the
office and just messed up my desk.
[NOTE: I assumed it was going to be a bad day
when I came to work... However…things are off to a good start. We just
happen to have an anti-stress seminar scheduled for the rest of the day!]
Dear Dreamer: Your dream tells about a situation
when nothing works to the point of wipe-out.
The dream has you in a work space, working with
someone personally unhappy with you, and not only getting nowhere, but
encountering increasing difficulties in communication, in tracking what
was going on, until organization was blown away.
Look for any recent situation, episode, in which,
past training, trying to work things out, reason, your mind-set, etc.,
were spun out of control, broke down from some anger-attack or other
emotional storm or mental blast. If no personal or office
associations, have an eye out for such coming your way. BUT, dreams of
future possibilities carry NO guarantee they will actually occur. They do
allow us to safely and totally emotionally experience what we have not,
and may not in awake-time.
A key dream question is what to do when nothing
works and/or when you lose it (e.g., not connecting, not tracking the
essence, emotions overwhelming), for example when with an unhappy if not
also seemingly unreasonable customer (or friend or relative or
colleague)? To think outside the box (trust instincts if
training/experience fail), to rephrase (what can I do to help?). To take
a time-out (please hold while I check with, or, I’m sorry but I will
have to call you back…). To allow the possibility that some cannot be
satisfied (want no solution only to dump/vent)? That at a certain moment
it is time to reach closure but ideally on a positive note (I will
nonetheless pass your complaint to a superior)? To smile at a growth
opportunity? To accept that some days we do not climb Mt. Everest? Etc.
Also, recall what happened in the training seminar that Mon., and if it
touched on the meaning of the dream.
Hope this helps. Good luck. DreamKnight
Dreamer's Comments:
Your thoughts are very
important to me as I don't often remember my dreams. Yes, things have
been a bit chaotic both at work and at home so your interpretation is
quite applicable... Thank you so much!
